It is a lovely sandy beach with beach bar and other facilities available during the summer season. There is a supermarket at the bottom of the road, approximately 1.2Km, leading up to Casa Lille. The supermarket offers many English brands as well as local produce. Other larger supermarkets (Mercadona and Consum) can be found just a short drive away on the edge of Calpe).Theere is a small bar/eaterie within a 3 minute walk, there is a pool bar and restaurant at Parque Casablanca, about 5 minutes walk, and many other excellent restaurants just a short drive away on the coast road or in Moraira or Calpe themselves.Benissa Coast The coast road between Moriara and Calpe is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in Spain. It offers beautiful panoramic views across the ocean and a wonderful variety of sandy beaches from small coves dotted along the coast road to the larger beaches at Calpe and Moraira.Moraira Moraira has grown from a small fishing village into a popular family holiday destination. Whilst the centre of Moraira still maintains much of the original character and atmosphere the town has grown to offer an excellent choice of good quality restaurants and shops. The town has an attractive marina and an 8km coastline with fine sandy beaches, transparent waters and a number of small coves.
The Moraira coastline is uncluttered by high rise buildings, it has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and as accommodation is virtually limited to privately owned villas and apartments, it tends to primarily be a family destination. Calpe Calpe is a town full of history and culture that also provides wonderful facilities for holiday makers. It has a two large and well kept sandy beaches as well as several smaller bays. The town has a wide variety of shops and an extensive range of restaurants to suit all tastes and purses. There are some lively fish restaurants on the sea front or you can chose to go continental or sample the traditional Spanish tapas - the choice is endless. The old town of Calpe is a maze of picturesque little streets and squares full of yet more restaurants and bars - an ideal way to spend a pleasant summer evening the Spanish way. The Peńón de Ifach is the symbol of Calpe and an unmistakable sight on the Costa Blanca. It is the highest rock in the entire Mediterranean and divides Calpe's shoreline. The rock was turned into a Nature Reserve in 1987 and provides shelter for a variety of plants and fauna. Jávea Jávea is located slightly further north of Moraira, between the capes of San Antonio and La Nao. The marine and port area, known as the Aduanas del Mer, is located 2km from the old town centre. Javea has 20km of coastline. There is an interesting mix of beaches with soft sandy beaches, such as the main Playa del Arenal, and smaller, shingled beaches bordered by pine trees that are ideal for diving.
A more traditional Jávea
is found inland with riu-ruas (traditional drying houses) and orange groves
that are protected from the harsh continental climate by the natural barrier
formed by Montgó.
Denia
Montgó extends to the north of Jávea and serves
as a natural border between Jávea
and Denia. Denia is the captial of the Marina Alta and is a modern
cosmopolitan city offering both visitors and residents a range of services.
The historical centre of Denia contains the symbol of the city, it's castle.
Denia is a coastal city and has a 20km coastline, made of small and
beautiful coves as well as the main holiday beaches.
Jalon Valley
If you are looking for a taste of a more traditional and
rural Spain, then the Jalon Valley is
the place to explore. Slightly inland it provides a wonderful taste of
the Spanish countryside - a
landscape of ancient olive and almond groves mixed with vineyards and
handcrafted terraces.
Little
more than 4km down the valley, the town of Jalon
presides over an agricultural heritage that dates back to Moorish Spain. The
blue glazed terracotta dome of the church sits high above the square,
visible for miles around.
There are many excellent restaurants located around the Jalon
Valley - offering traditional Spanish cooking - roast meats and fish - and a
friendly atmosphere. Typically a 3-course meal will cost you around 10-15€ a
head including wine.
